Choose 2 writing presentations of your peers. Please comment on the successful aspects of the reading presentations of your peers that you have observed and the aspects that need to be improved.Also evaluate the presentations in terms of the following aspects: the aim of the lesson, the level of active student participation in the lesson, the clarity of the stages, the use of audio/visual aids, the interest level of students, the pacing of the material, the variety of pair/group/individual activities, the clarity of instructions, and the presenters' use of English, the presenters' oral performance in English and their presentation skills.

Firstly; Ahmet, Emine and İkbal were really successful. their topic, video and presentation were very nice. I liked mostly the video part although there were some problems with it such as sound and view quality. Peer feedback was a good choice but I think because of the number of the students in the class, after the second turn, I could not find anything to write as feedback. However, it was a good idea in theory. for Vİldan and Belkıs, I don't have anything to say negative. I really enjoyed. giving key words, using pictures of the words, writing part and so on were really impressive and funny. Also, the teachers were very friendly and helpful. they monitored and helped if necessary.
ReplyDeleteI want to make comments about this weeks' presentations. First group was the group of Emine, İkbal and Ahmet. They were all so good. Their control of the class and their motivation was extremely high. the most striking thing in their presentation was, of course, video:) In a real class, it would be really attention grabbing if it attracts even our attention so much. Also, feedback session during Ahmet's presentation were nice. Peer correction is one of the best ways for learning. Another thing Which I liked is every paragraph was corrected four times. It is a really good idea because if someone can't see a mistake others can. The other group was Emine and Sebahat's group. They were also very good. They were like a teacher. their directions about the acitivities are very clear. They walked in the class among the students and helped them if it is necessary.
ReplyDeletefor the presentation of bilge and sena, I must say that it was well prepared because we had a chance to see every stage seperately and how they combine the stages smoothly. each activity is appropriate for each skill, they had an integrated skills lesson. the most striking and attention attracting aspect of their lesson is the way they give feedback and make encouragements for students. they are very lucky in that they can do these already now. congratulations...
ReplyDeleteFor Emine and Sebahat’s presentation I can say that they were very successful. The student participation was high enough and this shows their lesson drew students’ attention especially the ones who like sport. The stages of the lesson were clear. The teachers’ smiling face and sincere behaviors made students feel comfortable. They were like real teachers in a real classroom. Especially I like the last activity in which they gave some words and made students write a story by using those words. It was a good idea to give some words because if a teacher makes students write a story without giving any limits or guidance, the students feel confused and they can’t decide what to write and how to write it. Therefore I found that activity very good. In short, I found Emine and Sebahat proficient in teaching writing and very successful. In Emine, İkbal and Ahmet’s presentation I enjoyed a lot because they know how to attract students’ attention and they did their best. They were like experts. I like the last peer correction part. It was a very well technique to use in a writing classroom. The instructions were clear and the teachers’ attitudes towards students were positive. Therefore they were successful..
ReplyDeleteFor Gizem's and Özlem's integrated presentation, I can say that I enjoyed every single moment of it :)The role playing and writing a scenerio for it were such a good idea that all of us contributed to the class and enjoyed it as well. They seemed quite comfortable which also affected our attitude towards them. Otherwise, we might think that they did not like what they were doing which might cause us to lose our attention to the class.Lastly, the topic choice was quite succesful, because nearly all teenagers love to watch movies; therefore, there were a lot to talk in the class.

I am very influenced by the presentation of Vildan and Belkıs when I heard that. They had a very well planned lesson plan. the activities found are interesting for every people. the question about what is deficient in the list. they are attention grabbing and do not allow the students to turn their attention any where.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with the powerpoint is not an important because instead of it they had many things. Instructions were clear. everybody enjoyed themselves.
first,ı want to make comment on necati and ebru's writing presentation. they both were effective teachers, they applied many methods in such a short time and it was an enjoyable and effective writing lesson. they used visual materials related to the their text and after than they asked us to role play, it was such an enjoyabla activity. they also taught vocabulary and it was an integrated lesson, their writing activity was also creative and they could attract the students's interest. they were both relax and they gave us motivation. they used the group working and their oral explanations also were clear so, they were good.
ReplyDeletewhen ı come to the second writind presentation, ı want to comment on the halil and uğur's presentation. they were such a good communicaters with students and they could make each students get interested in the lesson. their powerpoint pictures were really good. they also taught grammer and vocabulary. it was an integrated also, and their writing activity was also creative one. the idea of using the new forms in the writing activity is a really benefical for students, so both group were successful.
First f all Ahmet, Emine and İkbal were really enjoyable. their topic, video and presentation were very satisfactory. I liked the video part. Peer work was a good one it was a good idea in theory. for Vİldan and Belkıs, everything was fine. I really enjoyed. giving key words, using pictures of the words, writing part and so on were really charming and funny. Also, the teachers created very friendly and helpful environment for students. they monitored and helped if someone needs. My friends did good job at all. they all got accustomed to teaching, me either. the passing was really nice during the presentations of both.
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I want to begin with Ahmet, Emine and İkbal’s presentation. It was really a good job. Everything was good organized. Especially the video was impressive. I think it was a good technique, because the students will be happy to see their teacher play in a video the writing activity was also effective, because after we wrote our receipt, we gave them to our friends and they made evaluation on our receipts. I think it is effective both in seeing our own faults and our friends’. The audio-visual aids were especially good, because I think they are good helpers in keeping the students alert. The video also helped in writing. The teachers were also good. They were relaxed and they paid attention to students and their needs. Their activities made the writing lesson enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, Nejati and Ebru’s presentation was impressive. I think they would be good teachers. The lesson was great, because it always kept us engaged. The activities were creative. First they gave us a text which was interesting and then they want us to role play. Ebru’s usage of pictures was also impressive. We went to board and stick the words to board. I think the lesson overall was a good one. It does not give a students to sleep the teachers were great. They had confidence and they were relaxed. I got the impression that they were teaching for years
Vildan's and Belkıs's idea to begin to lesson with an attention grabbing story was very nice and impressive. We were really curious and did some brainstorming with the words we just learned. This made them more memorable, permanent and active in our minds. Like I said in the class, too, the video was hardly understandable. A better video is what would make their lesson perfect. They, later asked us to use the words we learned. It was enjoyable to draw words from that cute box. Recipes were funny because of random materials and we not only practiced new vocabulary and process writng but also had fun.
ReplyDeleteEmine and Sebahat was the top presentation for me. Their video and warm-up was very well-organized. The video was useful, short and interesting. Then the connection with obesity was a well-thought one. They, too gave some words to write s story and the stories were amusing. We, again, practiced the new vocabulary and had fun. They were like real, experienced teachers. They seemed very confident and they were sincere and sweet teachers.
I want to make comment on Gizem’s and Özlem’s presentation. It was a succesful lesson which can be applied succesfully in a real class atmosphere. The materials used in the presentation was really good, the film for example, and writing a story on the video, that is writing diologue of the film made us use our creativty. Besides ıt was very enjoybale. With their soft intonation the instructions were clear, too. As whole it was a good presentation.
ReplyDeleteThe other presentation group is Vildan and Belkıs’ presentation. The techniques they used were impressive. For example their warm up and beginning to the lesson made the us curious. They guided us discuss and so participate in. Then they gave us a box in which therewere many pieces of paper. Then they wanted us to choose some of them. Lastly we were supposed to write a random recipe with those words. For example our recipe seemed awful but creationg such a thing I mean the process was enjoyable . these activities taught us the vocabulary permenantly.
Firstly, I want to comment on the presentation of Emine & Sebahat. They have prepared an integrated lesson. They used audio-visual affects very effectively. I may say that the video was interesting and enjoyable. Their topic choice was a good one; it was not boring so that the lesson was enjoyable. They used very clear instructions during the lesson and if students had difficulty they help them. They were really sincere towards student so the motivation of the students was very high; they actively participated in the lesson. Their writing topic was also well-chosen, they had given some vocabulary items beforehand, and during the writing process they wanted students to use them. As the vocabulary was integrated with the writing, students could learn the new words.
ReplyDeleteBelkıs and Vildan gave a beneficial presentation. Their topic was similar to ours: recipe. They were very active in the class and used very clear instruction. As Sebahat & Emine did, they had given some vocabulary items before the writing section and during the writing section students used these items. As the students had to use the new vocabularies they didn’t write their classical recipes such as menemen, pasta etc. So this technique can develop students’ creativity. As for using visual aids, as they used some pictures for vocabularies students will remember these vocabularies easily.
Ikbal used her own video and it was enjoyable. And all of my friends had well done. They used authentic and useful materials also they could motivate students to lesson. Thank you all:)))
ReplyDeleteI want start with Ahmet, Emine and İkbal’s presentation.It was really well at all. I liked especially the video part.It is such a nice idea to use teacher in the video.This can be one of the greatest effect to catch students' attention in a real classroom. Moreover all the teachers were self confident and they were smiling to the students and it was forming a warm athmosphere. I also liked the way they suggested feedback. students had a chance to see and comment on their peers papers and it was really fun indeed :) I also liked Gizem's and Özlem's presentation. they also were careful to integrate more skills into lesson.I especially liked the role play part.I am sure students enjoy very much for these kind of activities in class and it is very useful as well. I also want to thank other peers as well it was a pleasure for me :)
ReplyDeleteFirst I want to talk about the presentation of Halil and Uğur. It was a good one. The most striking part of their presentation was that they made spontaneous decisions according to a plan. That is, they had a lesson plan and knew what to do. However, they let the students to take part actively in the lesson. It is a difficult thing actually, because the teacher had to be qualified enough in order to achieve this. If the teacher cannot achieve this, the lesson may be unorganized and there may be a problem with time, but such things didn't happen in the lesson. The topic choice was also good, and showing pictures made students have a concrete idea about the topic.
ReplyDeleteThe presentation of Sebahat and Emine was also very successful. Their presentation was an enjoyable one in which they integrated different skills and used the visual aids efficiently. The way of presenting was also nice. The presenters were like experienced teacher and they knew what to do. They were friendly and made the students participate in the class successfully.
