For the first group that did presentation on 03 November(Necati Sarcan-Ebru Aker):
ReplyDeleteIt was a well prepared lesson. The aim of the lesson was clear, it could teach some new vocabulary, students enjoy the lessom and participate in it actively without hesitation, we can easily understand the stages of reading in which level what we did, video was a good choice for reading but it should be checked before coming, instructions were clear enough for beginner levels, presenters' oral performance was good, they were good at communicating in English efficiently and lastly activities are enjoyable especially puzzle one.
For the second group that did presentation on 03 November (İkbal gercik, emine eren and ahmet özkan):
ReplyDeleteTheir usage of cartoons are very effective and their choice of topic is very good as it is a common problem nowadays. Thanks to them and their activities we have a certain information about the topic now. As being teachers, they are effective they could use the material efficiently.
For Necati's and Ebru's presentation, I can say that the flow of the lesson was quite well organized and the activities integrated language skills to the lesson quite succesfully. The passage was appropriate for the students' level and its topic was enjoyable. Additionaly, making students listen to the passage from a native speaker is beneficial for students speaking and listening skills.
ReplyDeleteWhen I come to the second group's presentation ( İkbal, Emine and Ahmet), their lesson's most striking feature is their topic choice. Because the swine flu is one of the most controversial issues of these days, each and everybody in the class actively participated into the activities. Also, using power point presentation for probable unknown words was a very good idea so that students' attention did not distract and the vocabulary become more permanent for them.
First of all, I believe that every group was successful in their demos and presentation.having colorful things like cartoons, paper, mini funny stories is really useful to draw the patticipants/students' attention to the lesson. all the warm-ups were quite successful. students never got lost during the lessons. we all knew where we were while the lessons were progressing. topics were well chosen and some of them were really current and applicaple.objectives and aim of the lessons were always inside the lesson and with topic. students were all involved in the lessons and that was perfect. I think everything was fine with the lessons and the people :)
ReplyDeleteFor Necati and Ebru’s presentation I can say that it was well prepared and as their activities were various, their lesson was enjoyable. The use of audio visual aids was good, they used a variety of materials and activities. Their presentation skills were also good. When it comes to İkbal-Emine and Ahmet’s presentation I can say it was a great success because they used a variety of activities and materials and their topic choice was very good. They used a lot of cartoons and colorful photos. This was also a very good idea to prevent students to get bored among black and white reading materials. During an activity İkbal encouraged students by saying that the questions were very easy. That was a nice thing to do and maybe the most needed characteristics of a teacher. In general they were very good and professional, but I see a point that can be improved. That point is reading the unknown words from the slides. It was not a good strategy I think. Instead they could have firstly asked the students to guess the meaning of those words from the context. For Özlem and Gizem’s presentation I don’t have much to say because they were great. Their materials and the activities were very well prepared. Their topic was very well chosen for a lesson in the lunch time; especially the idea of making a contest about the topic of the lesson was a brilliant idea. So I congratulate them
ReplyDeleteFor the first group of today ( Belkıs and Vildan );the lesson of them well prepared one. Everything is okey with them especially the final paragraph is creative but it can be done more systematically. Attitudes towards students are encouraging which is expected from all teachers. For the other group of today; their topic choice is very nice because it was really informative. It is a topic that everyone wants to learn about. Activities are well designed. It can not be discussed as they are all already informative and enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteFor Gizem and Özlem's presantation, I can say that the most brilliant idea was the part of the traditional cusine contest. All of the students were engaged to the activity very well and the atmosphere was like a real contest, so we had a lot of fun. Also, the teachers seemed enthusiastic and tried to keep the students active as much as they could. Over all, it was an enjoyable presentation.
ReplyDeleteFor Belkis and Vildan's presantion, the most crucial point for me was about using reinforcement, in our case it was a bar of chocolote. Using reinforcement in education process is quite an effective method to motivate students, on the condition that the frequency and the type of the reinforcements are appropriate for the students. Also, their small writing activity was really enjoyable because the final versions of each paragraph was absurd and funny, so all students enjoy the activity.
All of the presentations were very well-prepared and there was no mistake at all. Most of our class members are third-year students; they have gota very long way to go; but I saw that they already have the adequate information equipment. At this time of their educational and professional life, some mistakes should be considered natural; and the anly thing that is unnatural was their success. They deserve a big applaud.
ReplyDeleteFourth year students were also good, and unfortunately, their(or our) mistakes are tolerated less. I am not saying we were bad, but we still need to be better.
All in all, I enjoyed all of the presentations.
If we write an overall about our presentations i can say that we are a very good class and everybody did his/her job very well. All the presentations were very good interms of preparing, presenting, exercising etc... Even in most of the schools regular teachers cannot give a presentation as ours. To me everybody in our class will be a perfect teacher. If we comment in detail;
ReplyDeletefirst of all for Necati&Ebru, their presentation was well prepared, their using visual elements was a good idea, especially video. The aim of presentation was clearly stated. They both have the knowlegde of how to control/manage class. Their lesson requires students to actively participate in class, their activities were also fun. There is nothing bad i can say about their presentations.
All the presentations had the same features i have written above, so now i will write features i liked most in the presentations. As for Gizem and Özlem their topic was interesting, students mostly like such topics. To me best part was traditional cusine contest, it encourages students to participate actively and giving a prize to the winner is a brilliant idea.
Belkıs&Vildan used reinforcement and i think it worked very well. They gave chocolate as a reinforcement, everything was prepared accordint to student’s level.
Sena&Bilge were very succesful in their presentation, their classroom management skill is very good, they encourage students for lesson.
Congratulations my friend all of you did a very good job ;)
To be honest, I really appreciate my friends for their perfect presentations. They all did good works. I likes Ahmet's group's using pictures and their topic. they were really goot at getting students' attention by using such a topic. their presentation was really informative. Sena's group was very enjoyable because of the teachers' energy. ın Özlem's group's presentation, competition and the prize were really attractive for the students. In short, I think all of my friends will be good teachers because they know how to teach, to attract the students and to use visual aids properly.

ReplyDeleteI think every one of my friends did a very good job in reading presentations. Bahar and Seda were also very succesful and professsional in their presentation. They used audio visual aids to attract students’ attention, but they didn’t have to use them because their topic choice was really good and even if there had been no audio visuals, their lesson would have draw students’ attention. Since their topic was interesting and activities are enjoyable, almost everybody participated the activities. Especially the last part was very well chosen. It was very enjoyable and beneficial for the students. Because of all these reasons I like their presentation very much and congratulate them:)
ReplyDeleteFor Gizem's and Özlem's integrated presentation, I can say that I enjoyed every single moment of it :)The role playing and writing a scenerio for it were such a good idea that all of us contributed to the class and enjoyed it as well. They seemed quite comfortable which also affected our attitude towards them. Otherwise, we might think that they did not like what they were doing which might cause us to lose our attention to the class.Lastly, the topic choice was quite succesful, because nearly all teenagers love to watch movies; therefore, there were a lot to talk in the class.
ReplyDeletethanks
First of all, thank you for your nice comments on our presentation those made me very happy.
ReplyDeleteNecati and Ebru's presentation was successful. They were well-prepared. Their aim was to teach new vocabulary and attract attention with the audio. There was a technical problem with the audio it was cut off before the end but Necati, without any hesitation or panic, continued from where it was off and this quick and successful decision making really impressed me. They were confident and seemed to know what they are doing which contributed their management.
Gizem and Özlem chose a very nice topic which made us all hungry. The visual support was very well thought. With pictures, words are learned more effectively and permanently. As we had no clue about American food, seeing the pictures was very helpful, or else it would be too far from our comprehension. The contest was a very good idea. I am in favor of competition not collaboration. This triggered students to participate and do something very nice. They spoke, they presented and they defended their food and these are very essential skills especially in front of other people. It was also fun and fun is an indispensable thing for teaching which makes everything better.
I think all of the presentations were nice and they contributed us very much. ı think after seeing all presentation skills and methods, now we are different than before. when ı look at the first presentation of özlem and gizem, they were very effective. their topic was interenting, because everyone wants to know something about interesting foods. ı think the topic attracts the students. they showed some pictures when there is an unknown food, it was also a good method for vocabulary. using visual materials in the lesson is very benefical,ı think. the content and their way of presentation was also good. their last activity was also interesting and good. they formed groups and we wrote our own food and tried to guess the food. it was such an enjoyable activity that all of the class participated in the lesson. their prize was also an extraordinary one, but it was creative and good:)
ReplyDeleteFor the second group that did presentation on 03 November(Necati Sarcan-Ebru Aker): ı think they were very good teachers. necati wrote the vocabulary items to the blackboard, ı think it was very effective, while we were listening the video, there was a problem, but necati continued to read the passage himself without any panic, it was also a professional technique.their activities and their topic were also good, a love letter attracts all the class, so it was enjoyable.
ReplyDeletewhen ı come to ikbal gercik, ahmet özkan and emine, they were also successful. their topic was interesting and benefical for us. although the class was a bit tired, everybody got interested in the topic. their vocabulary part was also effective. ı think it is good idea to show some usages of words in the powerpoint with pictures and usages of words. their content was also well organized. the activities were interesting and all of them were integrated with the other activities.
for the presentation of vildan and belkıs, ı will also say good things, because ı think everyone has done a good job in the presentations. their way of presentation was effective and they could be good teachers, ı think. they could get the class participated to ther lesson. they gave feedback when we were successful. it was a good technique, even if the students do not want to listen the teacher, they can be motivated if there is a chocolate at the end:) it is very effective technique and ı am sure ı will also use this technique in the future, because reinforcement is very important in the learning process. their writing activity was very enjoyable and creative.
ReplyDeletewhen ı come to the sena and bilge's presentation, they are already like professional teachers. they have eye contact, they use mimics and they are very relax, so this gives motivation to the children. their way of teaching is effective. their topic, content were also good. activities were well designed. they could get the students motive and participate to the lesson. they could manage the class, so they were also successful like our other friends.
I think all of the presentations were perfect, congratulations friends, good job:) overall I liked all of them. Everybody did their best and all the presentations were better than I expected. I think all my friends will be good teachers and will help their students love English:)
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I really liked Ahmet, Emine and İkbal’s reading lesson. It was beneficial for all of us:) they used audo-visual aids, authentic materials, handouts and real materials like hand gel. All of these materials made lesson more enjoyable and the topic understandable. Swine flu is a current issue which made the lesson more enjoyable. The teachers did also a good job. They were relaxed and knew how to do their job.
Secondly, Vildan and Belkıs’s reading presentation was also effective. I think the best part was the chocolate part, I really enjoyed it:) giving reinforcement to students is a good idea which will increase their interests towards lesson. It is a good technique which can be used in all lessons. Vildan and Belkıs are good teachers. They gave good feedbacks to us which makes students more enthusiastic toward lesson. I think completing the end of the story is a good idea. This is a good strategy for making student think creatively.
Thanks everybody:)
I think every groups’ presentations were well organized and good samples. I attended all the classes and had the chance to observe all the presentation. I have learned many things from them. I have chosen many aspects of each presentation es a model or example for my future presentations and future teaching carreer. In those presentation I liked very much Uğur and Halil’s presentation. It was for law levels and and well prepared for their age and interest. They used cartoons and diologues between them which was interesting and enjoyable so they could get attention so there were many volunteer participants for the activities.
ReplyDeleteAs second group Seda and Bahar’s presentation was alsoa good one. Their topic choice was good and by this way they could easily get our atteniton. Then their materials were also good. And they integrated all of them succesfully.
All of them was good and my friends prepared well and designed authentic and useful materials. Topics chosen were also good. I observed and learned some ideas. They gave me some ideas for teaching. Thank you very much my friends:)))))
ReplyDeleteThe presentations were generally good and I can say that each group tried to do their best by planning various activities. The presentation of Ebru and Necati was a well-prepared and colorful one. They also used many activities, which is suitable for the level of the students as they will get bored easily. They also used the time efficiently and their management of the classroom shows that they have been to real classrooms. Their instructions were also clear and helped them to control the classroom.
ReplyDeleteThe second presentation was given by İkbal,Emine and Ahmet. Their topic choice was very good as the topic was timely. In those days everybody was interested in the topic, but noone had much information about it. What the presenters did was to give general information about the swine flu, which took the students' attention. The activities were also good and absorbing. The use of visual aids made the lesson understandable.
The presentation of Vildan and Belkıs was also a good one. They used various techniques in the presentation. The reinforcement was used in the presentation. As a prospective teacher I believe that reinforcement shouldn't be used all the time but when it is necessary as using it often many not help because of students' getting used to it after a while. However, Belkıs and Vildan did it in the right time and the reinforcement was effective in this case. Completing the story was a good activity for the students as the students have to both understand the story very well and to think further about it.
Sena and Bilge were like professional teachers. Their management of the classroom was really successful and I know that it is very important in a real classroom environment. They motivated the students to participate in the lesson and I can fairly say tell that they they seemed as if they knew what to do. I congragulate them for this reason.
I liked the presentation of Seda and Bahar because of the use of the authentic material successfully in the lesson. They also made students participate in the lesson. They were friendly and cheerful .Bahar was smiling all the time and Seda was listening to the students carefully.
